I’m back in Alaska for the next couple of months and just got back from a week in Kodiak Island. It was the first time I got to see wild bears on the beach and Dall Sheep grazing in the mountains. Although I was never able to get close enough for a decent photo, it was still an awesome place to see. Here is the typical site I saw - small longline fishing boats coming in to offload their catch.

New Blog Post: The Agta & Dumagat of Isabela -

The Agta and Dumagat are a subgroup of the Aeta people, who are more commonly called Negritos here in the Philippines. This is because of their very dark skin and kinky hair. As was explained to us the Agta people mostly live in the mountains or forest while the Dumagat live close to the shore, although they frequently migrate to either location as they are still semi-nomadic people.

On the road in Mindanao -

I’m back in Mindanao and wanted to share some images from the past few days. I have been here looking to photograph some of the indigenous peoples in the northern region of the island, and it has proven to be somewhat difficult. Despite one very disappointing day we were able to find a small Mamanwa community that allowed us to photograph them. READ MORE
